A friend of mine, Craig Cooper, walked four million steps in 2025. (You may remember him from THIS PODCAST EPISODE a few summers ago!)
FOUR MILLION STEPS. That seems ridiculous. Like a number that isn’t even possible. But he did. It’s like walking from Nashville to Los Angeles. And I am not even going to pretend to try to set a goal like that, but I was intrigued as I watched his Instagram reel about it.
I wanted him to break down how much he walked each day and why he did it and what the daily practice was for him, but I appreciate what he did instead. He just said, “Start walking.”
I’ve never been great at making myself go on walks just to walk. If I’m training for a race or doing some sort of step challenge with friends, I can do it. But just walking around my neighborhood has never been enticing to me.
Then I moved to New York City.
